Hazel the Hedgehog Wall-hanging

Now that this has been gifted and received, I can post!!

I used the Hedgehog block pattern from my Fancy Forest quilt pattern (Elizabeth Hartman) to make this absolutely adorable quilted wall-hanging. I didn’t have any off-white or cream-colored quilting cotton, so I used muslin I had hanging around (when I was considering making myself skirts).

I used my new Aurifil mono-filament thread for the spiky free-motion quilting on the top. Natural white 50wt Aurifil thread was used for the back. I used my echo quilting foot for the FMQ, but used my walking foot for piecing. By the time I got to the blue hedgie, seams and everything were absolutely perfect!!

I didn’t take a picture of the label, but I used a piece of lined muslin (to match the back). I printed off the wording on my printer, then used a window to write on the muslin using a permanent Sharpie pen. I stitched it on by hand. Same with the hanging sleeve.
