John Cooper Works Mini – a Mini Quilt

One of my favorite holidays is Day of MINI. Ok, so it’s a self-designated holiday to celebrate the anniversary of when I received my car, but …. why not celebrate? The tradition started when I got my very first car in 2001; it was known then as Day of Car since I didn’t have a Mini Cooper until 2007. The tradition consists of a full detail (including wax), new music album, drive, and photo op.

This year, Raphael the JCW Mini, is one year old! Here are the details for Day of MINI 2016:

Music: new albums
Norah Jones “Day Break” — listened while waxing Mini
One Republic “Oh My My” — listened while driving — “Better” is a great track!!

Drive: Hwy 14 in Alabama – Montgomery to Selma

Photo op: Random cotton field along the way!

Because I am most completely obsessed with my Mini, I digitized an embroidery design.  I loved it so much that I decided to make it into a mini quilt. I used elements (blocks 41 & 54) from the 100 Days 100 Blocks project I’m working on (see other post here) to build it into a 14.5″ finished mini quilt. I absolutely love it!!
